AutoConfigure

Some devices can utilise AutoConfigure to set the default profiles for that device/OS instead of manually above. If you're using the app, this should be automatic.

Security

By default, the app will use non-secure HTTP. This allows older devices to work properly however can cause certain utilities such as Upload Beta to break. If this doesn't work, try switching to HTTPS mode.

Memester is tested across multiple platforms to ensure it works, however, maintaining compatibility for as many platforms as possible can cause bugs.
Memester is tested on the following platforms and browsers:

• Microsoft Windows (Vista or newer)
• Windows Phone/Mobile 10 (Use the app where possible)
• Windows Phone/Mobile 8.1
• MacOS
• Linux
• Android

Please note that your browser must support proprietary MP4 codecs in order for videos to display. For example, Chromium for Windows compiled for aarch64 (Windows on ARM) will not display videos, use Firefox aarch64 for this instead.

The following device(s) operating systems are not supported by memester:

• BlackBerry 10 OS (Using default browser)
• Windows Phone/Mobile Pre 7.X

What is memester written in?

Memester utilises the following technologies:

• HTML
• CSS
• JavaScript (Optional/Can be disabled)

• VB.NET (Management Utilities and App)
• FFMPEG (Thumbnail Generation)

Custom Management Tools:

• Thumbgen

This tool is used to generate the thumbnails from videos. Dependency: ffmpeg, valid svideo installation with datastore.
This works by selecting the first frame of the video uploaded, and then resizes the output. Videos that do not have thumbnails will simply show a video embed in place of the missing thumbnail, your browser will then generate a thumbnail automatically.

• VTool

VTool is used to manage the svideo installation in it's entirity. Depdendency: ffmpeg (optional), Memester Thumbgen (optional), svideo installation.
This works by taking control of the svideo installation selected and allows you to mangae channels, videos etc.

• brencmp4

Searches out and transcodes videos to MP4 format if they aren't already.

• dff

Detects duplicated videos.

• buploadcli

Batch upload command line interface tool.

These tools are currently in a function over form state and are very scratchy, as a reulst, bugs can be caused by these tools when managing installations.
